Our mission is to aid the proliferation and consumption of healthy food here in Austin, Texas…

and so far it has been a delicious journey!  We have set out to achieve our mission by making healthy food a convenient grab-n-go option for students and professionals that want something portable, quick… AND healthy.

We began when Jeff Jackson used a credit card with a high spending limit (ahhh… how credit flowed back in 2005…) to build a humble food cart to provide an organic option on the drag for UT students.

And… it didn’t work at all!

Under-capitalized and overworked, Jeff couldn’t manage a retail food establishment in addition to hauling a cart to and from the sidewalk every day.  In a last act of desperation, he approached Farm to Market Grocery and asked them if they would give him a shot at selling healthy sandwiches to them wholesale.  They did.  Jeff saw a light at the end of the tunnel, and started working.  By himself at first, he slowly added kitchen staff, a delivery driver, a van, and finally, a manager and his own commercial kitchen.

Which brings us to today. Now Jeff and his team, led by Andrew Minter and Justin Owen, have a kitchen and delivery route that operate 7 days a week.  You can order The Green Cart to your office or party on demand, and find our stuff all over town in places such as Whole Foods, Dominican Joe, Bennu Coffee, Epoch Coffee, and over 40 other Austin locations!
